Ammon was on the official cover of the military.com's daily newsletter today! He just randomly looked it up that day and saw his picture of when we were living in Fort Knox. It brought back many memories of our time--not all wonderful, but we've found that you always think the grass is greener on the other side when it never really is. He isn't mentioned in the article, he isn't the caption, but I love the picture because it really shows what he had to do. He gets letters almost on a weekly basis from all the privates that he trained in basic training those two cycles. They all really look up to him. They will remember him forever because he had a big impact on their lives. I fully know that he learned much more than I will ever know about himself in that year too. It was a great experience for us because we learned about army life, active duty, Ammon learned how hard it is to be a drill sergeant, I learned how hard it is when you don't have a husband, almost never, and we learned that we can do it. This is the link to the article, although it really is irrelevant to Ammon!
