When we are driving, Matthew has become quite the pro at finding airplanes. In fact, he sees them when they are so little that I can barely see them myself. He points them out about thirty times every car ride. Most of the time, I don't see them, so when he is pointing them out and asks "What's that?," I know to just plainly tell him, "Airplane!" He has no idea that he has been on about twenty of them (literally), but he likes his toy airplanes that Anna gave him before we left Kentucky.
Abinadi. Great guy. I don't think he understands how much my son loves him. It is the cutest thing. Every night when we read the scriptures, Matthew gets to look at his "book," or the Gospel Art Book that the Church put out. He loves that thing. He has a few favorite pictures that he wants to see all the time and without a doubt, Abinadi is his favorite. He loves this picture and when he sees it, he loves to hear Abinadi's name. He always finds this picture in the hundreds that are in the book. So, the other day when he had to get shots, I got him his very own little Abinadi figure from Deseret Book. He held it during shots and all the way home. It is so cute that his first favorite character is Abinadi!
This is a star. No biggy. You can find them anywhere. But, Matthew, unlike others who just say that it is a simple shape, LOVES them. He points them out all the time and loves the "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" song. On his movies, they play the song throughout the different volumes and he dances, shakes and gets SO excited to hear the song. On one verse, he knows that the word "GO" is coming up so he'll repeat it until it is on the screen. He knows what verse it is and only repeats it on that verse. It amazes me how smart he is and how much he loves those videos. I can't believe he has learned so much from them!
Another favorite picture of Matthew's is Noah. Since a phrase in his movies is ARMS UP, he loves this picture. Whenever he sees it, or whenever we say Noah's name, he'll raise his arms just like Noah. It is too cute.
And what is this? Joseph and Potiphar's wife? Yeah. Another favorite. He loves this picture. He'll raise up his shirt when he sees it so he can see his belly like he sees Joseph's belly. Ammon says he likes it because Potiphar's wife looks like me and Sloan. WHATEVER. We are NOT Egyptian!
Matthew loves his book and is so smart because he remembers all the pictures. He'll be able to point out every person we ask him and loves the picture of the creation with the stars, loves President Hinckley and President Monson, knows the difference between Nephi, Lehi, Sariah and Laman all in the same picture and loves to see the temple. He is so cute and I love him SO much! And I love that he gives everyone high fives, even babies, fish and dogs. It is hilarious.
Ammon has always liked Forrest Gump so when he first saw me in January 2005 and approached me to ask if the seat next to me was taken, he knew it was fate when I told him he could sit there if he wanted. The rest is history. He later went to Iraq, the closest thing he could get to Viet-nAm, and we wrote the entire 18 months. When he got back, we saw each other everyday and he proposed December 2006. We were married in Las Vegas the next May and Matthew was born June 17, 2008.
After being told we would move to North Carolina and Georgia all sometime this year, both more than once, we are still living in Las Vegas awaiting the next orders two weeks before we should be there!
