So the day that Chris got home, I decided to go running earlier that night since I usually go around 10 pm (we had to go leave for the airport at 8:30) and as I ran past the house the first time, I noticed this amazing sign! It was too cool. And as I ran around the block, I saw Carolee driving and she stopped me and I told her that we loved the sign. And she acted like she had nothing to do with it. Hmmm. Paint on canvas. Yeah. I bet the Nelsons had absolutely NOTHING to do with it!
Jordan and Heather came over a few days after Chris got home. I haven't ever met Kherrington yet so it was so good to see them! She is SO adorable! It was good for Chris to see them and we decided that Matthew will have a lot of girls to choose from when he gets older. He is going to have to decide between a Polk and a Wong. We will see!
She already fits in though! She is so cute.
We actually got a picture of him kissing her. Uh-oh.
The next weekend after Chris got home, my dad had this wonderful "Indian" meeting that he had to go to. He wanted Chris, me and Matthew and Sloan and her kids to go along. Let me tell you how interesting that was! Being an Indian does have its advantages (or so he tells us) and we had to go so that we could get registered and so that Matthew can have his school paid for down the road. We strapped all the kids in one seat in the beast and they all thought that was so much fun. It was a LONG meeting, but the food was free and hopefully we'll get some benefits here one day soon.
It was special!
The whole next week was filled with more cleaning and more talking. It was so fun talking with Chris about Romania. We had many visitors at our house and we got to look at a lot of pictures about his mission. He probably took over 5000 pictures when he was gone and so I have loved to hear about his mission, the places he went and about his companions. We talked about the two elders that passed away and that sad story and what happened in the mission. We didn't watch TV that whole week because we were just talking about the gospel and about his mission. It was so much fun having someone to talk to about that since that was exactly what he wanted. By Thursday, some extended family came into town. Actually, everyone who was coming for Chris's Homecoming, came that day. We decided that we'd go to the mall so that Chris could get out and we used Erin's handy new stroller that I've been wanting since Matthew was born! Matthew in the front, Kenley in the back. It was so cute and it really made me want some twins since they are only three months apart!
On Friday the 12th (Sloan and Zane's anniversary), Erin, Dustin and Kenley all got sealed in the Las Vegas temple! I had never seen a sealing with a child before and it was so cute to see how cute Kenley looked all in white. She was so adorable in her little dress! I am so happy that The Guymons decided to get sealed in Vegas so that we could all be there.
Saturday March 13th was Chris's Open House. Our house was SO full of people that it was hard to find a spot to sit. I got to see a lot of people that we've known forever and I even got to meet a few of Chris's companions, including is "mission mom" when we met them down on the strip. Chris and I were in charge of the desserts and so we went to Sam's Club about a few hours before the started and got a lot of cake. That was good but the absolute highlight of the day was the Young's pulled pork. Rowan and Dorinda make this amazing pork and I was surprised that there was any left at all! (It got quickly eaten the next day though!)
Us at the Open House (with Matthew's wet shirt and all. Everyone loves to feed him).
I was SO excited to see Cody and Kaylynn again. They went with us to the strip that night too.

The next day was Chris's homecoming talk. I can't even say how proud I am of Chris! He did such a good job on his talk and did exactly what you expect out of a good missionary. He told the perfect stories about some amazing people and experiences he had in Romania. He had this story about a guy who was bearing his testimony (he was about 75 years old) and right in the middle of bearing his testimony, he fell over and died. Literally. What Chris didn't tell was that he was the missionary who had to carry the guy back to his house, bathe him, dress him (in garments), and put him in his casket. CRAZY. I can't believe that my little brother had to do that. He got a little emotional. He told all of these stories about some converts and the faithful members they had there. It really made me want to serve a mission. I wonder if I will ever get over the fact that I never went. You'd think that a husband and son would do that for me, but I still have a hard time with it. WHY?! Anyway, my mom also talked and did such an amazing job with her little eight-minute talk. It was on fairy tales, adversity and how you can't get a happy ending without going through the trials first. (The funny thing? President Uchtdorf gave that same talk about two weeks later at the Young Women's Broadcast. My mom is so awesome and so inspired. Her and President Uchtdorf are like this I---I haha!) We had a good day despite the fact that Matthew threw up as we were walking out the door to go to church (he caught a bug brought from company), but everything worked out. I learned that day how much patience I don't have! I was so proud of my family that day and also realized how lucky I am to have the parents I have and the family I have...we are sealed forever!
The rest of March was spent just doing more talking and more getting to know the new grandkids. Chris has had so much fun talking to the kids and has just loved Reese. Ammon's dad got Matthew this wagon for his first Christmas and Matthew has just loved pushing it around and riding inside. Matthew is so spoiled I can't believe it! The weather in March was so nice and so it was so much fun playing outside and having Sloan come over so often. It was a good change for us to be together! This will probably never happen again after Chris goes to Provo in June (since we are moving again soon and then he'll be married and we won't be this close!). It was so nice to all be together.
