The day before Valentine's was a busy day at the Bailey home. Why you ask? My mom had a big Stake Relief Society meeting for all the women in their stake and since I am not only in their stake now, but living with my mom, I had to go. Not to mention, I helped her set up a little they day before. My mom ALWAYS ALWAYS does such a good job on RS stuff. I have LEARNED so much from her and how to really "magnify a calling." She goes WAY beyond what is expected of her. The theme this time was camp and there were so many things that she included in her activity, including heart things, since it was Valentine's and heart health month. So, from about 9:30 to 3:30 that day, I was at the church with my mom. I learned a lot that day about how to unify your family, to continue to read the scriptures everyday with Matthew (Julie Beck said that by reading the scriptures, she learned how to keep the spirit in her home, learned that she became closer with her family and that by reading, they became closer AS a family), and how to not take so much offense by people. It was a really great activity.
Then, that night, since my mom was too tired to go out, she told us that she would watch Matthew and that we could go out. We had gone to the movie the night before (our first date since the temple and since last July!), and it was SO NICE to go out again. I have to admit it was really weird not having Matthew attached at my hip, but we had fun and saw Valentine's Day. I have to say it was hilarious and Taylor Swift's character was funny since it was totally every high school girl and how they acted. I have to admit, I saw a little of me in her, especially with the boyfriend who ran hurdles and whose favorite number was 13. (The good thing though? Shain never gave me that big bear he gave me at school thank goodness!)
So, Saturday night we went to Cheesecake Factory and went to see Dear John. Ammon was a sport and took me to see it knowing that I love Nicholas Sparks. That movie hit home with us though because John is in Special Forces and so it was interesting to see the different perspectives from the two parties. I do have to say that Nicholas Sparks is a better writer than I think his movies turn out.
We had an expensive Valentine's this year, but it was worth it and we are SO grateful that Matthew had such good babysitters!
I got Ammon Brad Paisley tickets for Saturday the 20th. We are so excited!
The beautiful flowers Ammon got me along with chocolates and the Open Hearts necklace from Kay Jewelers (my favorite jewelry place because they have a great slogan. Every Kiss begins with K. SO COOL!). I have been wanting it for so long and I LOVE LOVE it!
