The Soldiers' Night Before Christmas

Every year when I was little, I remember doing the 'Night Before Christmas' story to a family by dropping off a treat and a part of the poem anonymously every night on their doorstep. This year, I found a book that was called The Soldiers' Night Before Christmas at the PX. There were so many families that we could have done something nice for in our ward, but we decided to pick a family that we have really grown to like and who we thought would appreciate it. I won't post the whole poem, but it is too cute and talks about a drill sergeant named Sergeant McClaus who brings Christmas to the troops at war. I drove every night and Ammon ran and dropped the stuff on the doorstep. I hope we will remember to do this every year! Maybe when we are living on base, we'll have to do the Soldier poem and any other time, we can do the real one. The first night. Twix the night before Christmas...and in it, it says the soldiers each had their boot by their bed for the Santa of Soldiers to fill up with "loot" so we put chocolate coins in a stocking.Night two was when it talked about Sergeant McClaus and how he wore camo and a Santa hat. I found a camo Santa hat and put some chocolate Santas inside. The third night was all about what Sgt. McClaus put in their boots. He gave all of them homemade treats...including cookies, cakes and candies. I made a bunch of treats so they'd be homemade and stuck the note on the top.

We gave them the book and Sprite on the last night. "To all a good sprite..."

That is really cute Chelsea! We need to come up with some family traditions of our own. It seems hard though with Lana being little still. But I like what you did.
