Christmas Dinner

Ammon had work from 8 am on December 26th to 9 am on December 27th. Then we had church on the 27th and wouldn't get home until 3 and that he'd be really tired so we scheduled to have dinner on the Monday after Christmas, the 28th. I spent Sunday after church baking pies and on Monday, I actually had everything completely under control. I used two of our neighbors' ovens and mine as well. Everything turned out really well and the timing was perfect. It was probably the best dinner that I've ever made and I actually wasn't stressed about it. We had ham, parmesan potatoes, green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing, corn, Rhodes rolls, three kinds of pies and homemade whip cream. I spaced the whole picture thing since I was running from house to house in the thirteen-degree weather, so the only shot I got was of the pies. We had the missionaries and two drill sergeants over and everything was very nice. I just wish we could've done it on Christmas! It was actually nice having Christmas off and doing it another day though too.

It was funny because Elder Nygard has been here in Fort Knox since we got to Kentucky. He was telling us that he can't believe how much Matthew has grown. So then Ammon and I were talking about it and we said that Elder Nygard has seen Matthew one or two times a week since he was 11 months old so he has seen him grow up more than our families! Elder Nygard will even be here for at least another transfer too. What a long time to be in an area! He knows Matthew too well!
