October Conference is my most favorite. I even remember when I was younger that I always liked October more than April. When I was young, it was probably because I knew my birthday and Halloween were close. Now, it mostly has to do with the weather! I love fall! This was such a spur of the moment trip. Since my parents always go, and since I was there staying with them, we decided Friday morning that we would go up. We drove in the beast (yes, just my mom, dad, me and Matthew), and got up in Salt Lake late Friday. The only room they had for us only had one bed, so I was able to get a rollaway and things worked out SO NICELY! And, when we were watching conference in the hotel, we'd stick Matt's pack and play in the handicapped bathroom, he'd sleep and we could actually listen. Saturday morning was SUCH a good session. Elder Bednar is my favorite almost every single time. It still feels weird without President Hinckley and I'm not sure when I'm going to get over that. He was the best man ever. President Monson is a good man; I think it will just take me a little bit longer to realize President Hinckley is gone! Elder Scott was great this conference also.
With his G&G. Please tell me why my son always takes drunk pictures. He always looks like he has had a really rough night.
Saturday night, like usual, my dad went to the conference center with a sign that I made probably five years ago, asking for anyone's unwanted tickets. He gets into the priesthood session every time, so the signs work a little I guess! And, as usual, it was the girls who went off shopping. We were able to meet Joanna at the Gateway this year, and it was great getting to see her again. It was so much fun knowing that she is there pretty much every single time! We met up the Yarbroughs and Ponds at the Lion House and ate great food and even better rolls. I am so grateful for the tradition my parents have started with going to conference. I never know how often I am going to be able to go (since I can't even tell you where I am going to be in six months' time usually!), but I love going and love the feeling when you get to know you're in the same city as so many members and all the brethren.

Sunday morning turned out to be quite cold, so after we checked out of the hotel after the morning session, we bundled up and went on Temple Square. I LOVE THE SALT LAKE TEMPLE! I remember before I went through the temple that I never understood why every bride wanted to get married in that temple. Then, I got a job there, and I think about my job many many times a week. I had some wonderful experiences in that temple and it was there where I learned to love the temple so much. It was SO NICE getting to see it again and I loved letting Matthew feel the spirit that is on Temple Square. I know he won't remember it, but I know one day he'll appreciate it.

We were able to watch the Sunday afternoon session in the tabernacle. It actually worked out better than we thought, since we could take Matthew inside and it didn't matter how noisy he was (or any baby for that matter), because they weren't filming. It was also nice to know that my first conference was in the tabernacle, and so Matthew's first was also. He actually was a pretty good boy during the talks. How amazing is Elder Holland?! WOW. He can make a person feel the spirit even if they are trying not to. He is so wonderful and he made me realize how much I need to take more advantage of the Book of Mormon.

WELL...after the session, we headed home, but only to stop in Provo at my dad's obsession, Chuck-A-Rama. Matthew had a very interesting accident after he ate, so he was obligated to wear his blanket instead of his shirt outside.
Overall, the trip was very fun and I liked getting to spend time with my parents. And Matthew loves them both. We are so lucky that we have them and that we always have a place to stay when we go to Vegas.
