Matthew goes to heaven [aka THE DUMP]

After dinner at Texas Station, my dad took a slight detour home. He decided to do something that no one else would and take a self-guided tour of the dump after hours amidst the DO NOT ENTER signs. My poor son was so enthralled, he couldn't speak. He had never seen so many trash trucks in one place, let alone knew a place like this existed. He couldn't stop talking about it. I have to admit, I thought it was pretty neat seeing that many trash trucks all together, completely lined up in a row because I got to see how happy Matthew became. He hasn't stopped talking about it since. Really. He wants me to tell him the trash truck/trash men/dump story every single night before I put him in bed. (The made-up tale is a simple yet genius story that always, ALWAYS ends with the trash men telling Matthew to be a good boy and listen to his mommy and daddy so he can help them the next time it's trash day!) His obsession only grows with the brilliant way of getting YouTube on my parents' new TV which allows him to really watch the "trash trucks dump" anytime he asks. He's even met a few other little boys exactly like him. Really. Check them out. Matthew can tell you all about Griffin who sits on the curb to wait for the trash men and Parker who likes to take the trash out then grows to show off his own collection of front, side and rear loaders.

He is obsessed with Grandpa and Grandpa gives him his way, um ALWAYS. What an example of pure love (my dad, that is. I mean come on. What grown person, male or female, really just likes taking the trash to the curb even when the cans are empty? Or how about just simply going outside to look at them. Maybe dumping back and forth? None. My dad does it with him though!)
One day when he owns his own fleet and has enough money so that he doesn't have to have a route but does it simply because he loves it, this will be a great picture to have inside his very own BIG TRASH TRUCK.

Never ever EVER thought I'd really be posing in front of a trash truck. Have to admit.

That is so funny that he is still loving the trash. The things we as parents will do for our kids right?
