May Happenings

May has been quite the month for us. We have stayed busy and done a lot since the weather has been so nice. Ammon is still working graveyards at the Wynn as a bellman and Matthew and I have just loved being outside. Matthew is at such a fun age right now and most days, I just laugh at what he does. It is so hard to get upset when he is so cute and has such a good little personality. He loves to take off his clothes, wear other people's shoes, and "GO." I have made his theme song "Some Must Push and Some Must Pull" (whatever the title of it is in the hymn book) because that is what he does all day long, day and night. He pulls the jugs, pushes his car, pushes his shopping cart, pulls his walker. He grabs on someone else's shoes, goes outside and is either found pushing the trash can or wanting to take it to the curb. He has a new found love for the trash cans. He loves taking them out with Grandpa and wants to look at every trash can when we're out on the go. If you give him two seconds, he'll ask to go to the garage or eat a popsicle. He has started to love his movies again and wants them to be on all the time even though he will watch them for one second then leave the room. He is so funny and is getting so smart. He counts to five now, although it usually goes like this (skipping one) TWO, REE, GO. Or, to count to five, TWO, REE, TWO, IVE (yells). Here are some of the things we've been up to this May.

Ammon had to go to Utah the first weekend in May for drill and I think he had a lot of fun getting to see his family. He got to stay with Nate and get to see his dad before he moved to Kentucky (so funny that he is going there right after we leave). He got to see his mom, sisters, brothers and the Gilberts. We are excited for Nick's wedding in August and it will be good for us to see them in a few months!

Always outside either playing with the puppies that are now all gone or with his car.

The first Saturday in May was Kathan's baptism. Since Ammon was in Utah, it was just us that got to go and we got to see Chris baptize him. Chris has been quite busy since he got home and I have been so proud of him with what he is doing. Chris got to baptize Koldin in 2007 the day after we got married so it was nice that he got to do Kathan too.

Matthew loves Uncle Chuck's garage. I mean, come on, who doesn't?!

Actually LOVED the trampoline with Kristal.

Fun at the Osens' before we went to lunch after the baptism.

Always has this one close by.

Always someone else's shoes

Wearing his backpack and hat, just like Dad.

At Town Square with Gavin and Reese--throwing pennies in the water.

We went to Kherrington's birthday party and we made the kids do a Spiderman kiss. Kherrington is so cute and we had fun getting to see Jordan, Heather, Ken and his clan, not to mention Cliff and Emily.

Fun luau.

With Cliff and Emily. We miss them!

I couldn't find Matthew one day. Where was he? I went upstairs to my mom and dad's bathroom and found the trail. First time he's ever done that and I couldn't help but laugh.

They are always outside playing with Brooklyn.

This was the last puppy that we had to give away and I made this sign to hang on his neck as we dropped it off on a person's doorstep. He didn't stay for long because people ended up being allergic to him, but it was cute none the less. Matthew has missed the puppies though, that's for sure.

Chris always picks Matthew up and holds him and sings to him. And for some weird reason, Matthew loves it. He will be playing, eating, screaming...anything and Chris will just randomly pick him up and sing. Matthew always says AGAIN when he gets to the end. He loves singing and has begun to love his Primary CDs. His favorite song right now is "I Know that My Savior Loves Me." He always wants to hear it and we will literally listen to it over and over the whole time in the car. He always wants me to sing to him and likes to sing along. He also likes Follow the Prophet and wants me to sing all nine verses at nighttime when we're reading our scriptures and when he is looking at his book. He has become so smart and can now tell you who President McKay is all the way down to President Monson. I can't believe how quick he learns!

Loves to visit Grandpa in the study and to wear his backpack. Too cute.

We went to Dick's to visit Chris one night and we taught Matthew that when you're mad, you punch the punching bag. He had the best time that night and we had fun watching him. He is such a crack up and watches everything we do.

We found a pair of Chris's old cowboy boots and Matthew has loved wearing them around the last few days. He actually does pretty well walking like a cowboy in them too.

He is so funny and I love that he is my best little buddy. Life would not be the same without him and I love every minute of being a mom. I don't really even mind when he wakes up every now and then in the middle of the night and wants to be held. I have such a fun time just me and him and I can't imagine life without him. Mothers are so lucky to have such wonderful children that Heavenly Father has trusted them with. I am SO lucky that I can stay home with Matthew and that Ammon is able to provide enough for me to do so.
