This is pretty much how our life was the last part of January and the first week of February. We got to speak in church on our last Sunday and that was NOT my idea of a "great good-bye," but I learned from Ammon. I like hearing him speak because it isn't very often that I hear his testimony. (We're trying to work on that). Anyway, Matthew didn't like it too much and cried when we took apart his crib, but we finally got everything done. It was so sad for us! And you know? You would think since we move so often that we wouldn't have so much stuff. Well, we always want to throw everything we have away and just get more by the time we are starting to organize our move. We always get through it though. Ammon decided to drive the U-Haul and pull the jeep behind it while Matthew and I flew to Vegas. I have to say it was a nice thing for us to get to Vegas in five hours while it took Ammon more like 36, but we were so relieved when Ammon finally got to Vegas safe and sound.
Matthew and Elder Nygard. Elder Nygard got to this area he day before we arrived and has seen Matthew grow up more than our families. We really learned to like him and talked to the missionaries more than we ever have. We saw him go through so many companions and he still stayed. We'll miss him and we hope he gets to hit his year mark in staying on Fort Knox!
Matthew started to sit on his little step about three days before we left. I'd find him sitting down whenever I couldn't spot him anywhere else. His toys were packed and he couldn't walk around much, so I'd catch him just sitting on the stairs.
(He fell on his lip twice in about two hours. It bled and bled.)
Here is how it looked when Ammon left. Sad. All our stuff gone. We already miss it and can't believe that it is already over. We're excited for the next stage though and Ammon is so excited for Special Forces!
