January came and went.

January was a crazy month for us. Not only because we had to pack our things, but because our internet was so totally annoying. We literally would only have service for minutes at a time and so needless to say, pictures could not be posted on anything. We started out with a bang by writing down some goals. One of which, for each of us, was to get "better" bodies. Who doesn't really have that resolution at the beginning of the year? Well, we aren't any exception. I wish we were. But, we decided to buy these cool shoes.

My feet look extra small in these.

Ammon and his new obsession.

These shoes, called Vibrams, are one of Ammon's many new researching gadgets that he found and just had to have. It seems like everyday, there is something else he wants that will be so good for something else. He is so good at doing research and anyone who ever wants to know something goes to Ammon because they know that he already did the research on what was good and what would work the best. Well, these shoes, Ammon found, are the best way to work out. They are so good for "bare feet" running and it really does feel like you aren't wearing shoes when running or working out. They really work out your calves, that's for sure. We get some weird looks in the gym, but over all, we really like them and think that it was a great investment to work out in.
Ammon's unit didn't have a Christmas party in December so they scheduled us for one the beginning of January. The place, called Doe Run Inn, wasn't far from base or the church, and was a rather neat little setting. It was far in the woods, and since it had just snowed big time the day before, it was beautiful. It was fun getting to eat with everyone in the unit since we'd only done it once before.

Matthew stuffing more things in whatever "container" he can find.

When we first got here, Ammon's battalion had to be "reactivated." He was 5/46. For some odd reason, they completely had to do away with it when they all left. So, they had to have a whole ceremony for it. Ammon had to practice for it and everything. You know what he had to do? Stand still for 35 minutes as everyone else did the same. It was an interesting thing, since we know that all the people that spoke didn't really care about those they were speaking to, but it was nice that Matthew and I got to go none the less.
