Oh Christmas Tree

There are some things that make the military worth all the crap that [we] have to go through. Discount Disneyland tickets, free parking, health insurance...But this time, I'm talking about Christmas trees. We saw that they were giving away TREES FOR TROOPS. Live ones of course. I was so worried that we weren't going to get one because I just knew every single person on base was going to be there trying to get one. I knew when we pulled up that we would be last in line and that we'd be there for hours. Well, turns out they had 600 trees and there was no line! You just mad rushed and got whatever tree you wanted. Plus, they were giving away stands and everything. Someone, whoever donated ALL those BEAUTIFUL trees, really REALLY lost out on a lot of money and they are going to be very blessed! The tree we got is about 7 1/2 feet and a very gorgeous tree. We ended up getting the tree December 3rd, about three weeks after all my Christmas decorations were up, but we had to wait to get it for free! Matthew was in heaven of course and Ammon and I were so excited!

Our friend Dave [Foster] went with us this night and he also got a tree. We used his brand new truck to break in the bed with two new trees. We had a great night and it was fun getting the lights and ornaments up.

Foster's truck. Ammon's obsession. A 2010 F-150. BEAUTIFUL TRUCK.

For some odd reason, Matthew loves this guy. He has loved him since we got here. He is loud, obnoxious, swears a lot and drinks and Matthew just goes to him and loves him to death. He and Ammon have become pretty close friends and he is a really nice guy. As opposite as he really is to us, we actually kinda like him! It was fun going to get the tree with Ammon while Foster watched Matthew.

I got a tree and so did Ammon. Foster had knee surgery not too long ago so I got his and Ammon got ours. Not heavy, just REALLY prickly.

I was mental and only wore a little crappy not-for-warmth coat. It was SO COLD.

Putting up lights. He loves them and has to touch the tree whenever he walks past it.

Matthew's ornament this year is a drum. Fits him perfectly. He has been fascinated with drums and drumsticks all year. There couldn't have been a better ornament that fit him. His is always the first one up.
