The Castillos get baptized (finally!)

Elder Nygard, Joe, Ammon, Teri and Elder Maxfield
(we missed Elder Tate who was at every discussion. He just got transferred a few days before).
Ammon has a really good friend who is in his unit from Vegas. He was able to go to drill sergeant school with him last year for three months and they became pretty close. Joe got married to Teri in March and Ammon was able to be in their wedding and everything. We were pretty fortunate that they were able to come out to Kentucky with us and it has been SO nice having people here that we are friends with. Joe thought Ammon was a really good example, so he asked Ammon all about the church. They both started taking the discussions in June with the missionaries at our house (to tell you how long it took, Elder Nygard had three different companions in the process of the start to the baptism!). Joe wanted to get baptized pretty much right after the elders talked to him about the church. Since Joe couldn't go to church during the cycle, and since you have to go to church a minimum of three times before you're baptized, they weren't able to get baptized until this last Sunday. Ammon was able to perform both baptisms and it was such a good day! I am SO excited that they are so excited about it. They come to church every Sunday now, and they are becoming quite the little Mormon family! I'm looking forward to the future when they can one day go to the temple!

I'm so proud of Ammon! I think I am WAYYYY too critical on him sometimes and think that we aren't living how we are supposed to be. He must be a really good example to turn someone toward wanting to be a member just because he sees how Ammon is. It is so nice to know that Ammon is a great example to those he's around.
