Our son the trash man

I know that I've talked about Matthew's obsession with trash and the trash trucks before, but it really deserves a whole post just for itself. He really is a smart kid. I mean, he is pro at transferring trash from one can to another (even the big ones). He knows when it's full and that it needs to go "OUT" and can carry, push or pull it to the curb. He knows what day is trash day and the first thing he asks when he wakes up is if he can go bring the empty trash cans back in. His favorite is when he gets to see the trash truck and gets the trash men to wave and honk at him. He spots trash trucks miles away and wants to see "another one" right when he sees it go past. If there is an empty trash can in the house, he'll find a tiny piece just to so he can take it out. And another favorite? Just looking at them and getting to pull them about, to and fro, back and forth. He's too short to see over them, but he drives them better than most people drive a car. We were joking the other day that Sloan was obsessed with makeup and asked for that on her 3rd birthday. Now, 27 years later, she owns a makeup company and loves it just as much. What does that mean? I think Matthew will grow up to own his own trash dump and line of trucks. As long as he gets his own route, he'll be in heaven. And I think he'll be the first billionaire trash man!

He loves Toy Story. We always go down the Toy Story aisle when we go into Target. One day, he picked up a Buzz and he was loving him until all the sudden, he yells, "TRASH!" I looked around to see a TRASH TRUCK! He was so excited and didn't put it down. I couldn't break his heart and not buy it for him. My mom was too excited and gave me money just so she could be the one that bought him his favorite toy. It even has Lotso on the front, authentic to Toy Story 3, and he carries it everywhere, including bed.

He came home right away and tried to dump the trash into the truck. He also got a coloring book from Toy Story 3 and gets to color the pictures of the dump and talks about all the trash trucks taking the trash to the dump.

He used to ride on this handy dandy dolly until he realized, he puts trash on it and pushes it himself. He never needs or wants help at all. I can't believe it!

There's that floating trash can. I wonder where it's coming from!
